The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Late Summer Glow-Ups

August is that cheeky time of year when you're still clinging to summer but starting to hear the faint whisper of autumn. If you're not quite ready to let go of sunshine, slow mornings, and beachy vibes, you're not alone! This week I'm sharing my Lazy Girl’s Guide to keeping the glow going—with minimal effort and maximum mood-boosting magic. Whether you're lounging, brunching, or just trying to look cute while buying your sourdough. I’ve got you covered.

Beauty Switch-Ups: Let the Glow Live On

Let’s be honest, we’re not doing full glam in 30-degree heat. But a little something-something goes a long way:

Face Mist + SPF = Summer Skin Saviour: Keep it fresh with a hydrating mist and a light SPF tint. I’m loving a combo of La Roche-Posay’s Anthelios tinted SPF and a dewy spritz from Caudalie Beauty Elixir.

Hair SOS: After sea, sun and sweat, your hair deserves a treat. I’ve been using L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil as a hack for ultra-soft legs and as a pre-shampoo treatment.

Lip Oils > Lipsticks: Trust me, a slick of tinted lip oil makes you look “put together” without trying. I’ve been switching between Clarins and Rare Beauty.

👗 Style: The Three-Outfit Formula That’s Saving Me

When it's too hot to think about clothes but you still want to look like you made an effort, stick to this late summer formula:

  1. Oversized shirt + denim shorts + slides

  2. Floaty dress + straw hat + chunky sandals

  3. Linen trousers + ribbed tank + gold hoops

Everything can be mixed, matched, and dressed up with a belt or basket bag. My go-to brand lately? H&M for basics, Mango or Sezane for slightly elevated pieces, and Vinted for the lucky finds.

🧘‍♀️ Feel-Good Fitness (that feels like fun)

You know I’m all about fitness that doesn’t feel like a chore. Right now I’m loving:

  • Evening Runs with a podcast – current obsession: Paula’s Run Club

  • Paddle tired paddle for the first time on hols and I am hooked, spent a bit of time on you tube to understand the rules, it’s a double game so find some friends to play with you, it is such a fun game

  • Swim and chill – no structured workouts, just movement that makes me feel good

And if I’m feeling spicy? A 20-minute Peloton app HIIT to shake things up.

🏡 Home Vibes: Bring the Outside In

Even if you’re not going away, you can create that holiday vibe at home:

  • Scents: Burn a citrus candle (anything grapefruit or bergamot = instant uplift)

  • Bright cushions or a patterned throw: So simple, so effective

  • Flowers: A bunch of sunflowers or wild dahlias can turn your kitchen into a rustic summer dream

I grew these.. get me !

💕 Things I’m Loving This Week

  • Snack: Watermelon and feta salad with mint (add a squeeze of lime to elavate)

  • Podcast: The Happy Place - Fearne Cotton

  • Beauty buy: L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil (yes, again—still obsessed)

  • Fashion find: Oversized linen shirt from Arket

  • Playlist: “Late Summer Lounge” on Spotify—soft beats and beach feels

So there you have it—my lazy girl secrets to stretching out that summer feeling just a little bit longer. Whether you’re holidaying or just trying to survive the heatwave at home, here’s to keeping it easy, glowy, and joyfully low-effort.
